Can you help Damary?

Damary is a 12-year-old boy from east London who travels all the way to south east London to train at Palace for Life Foundation’s Elite Player Development sessions at Bishop Justus School in Bromley. Damary really enjoys the sessions and has improved his football skills and knowledge since being with us.

Sadly Damary has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia – a form of cancer – and he is currently being treated in Great Ormond Street Hospital. This is his second spell at hospital after he was first admitted back in 2015, but after treatment he returned to full health and resumed training with the Palace Elite Player Development Centre a year later. The doctors at Great Ormond Street have recently informed Damary’s parents that he will urgently need a bone marrow transplant from a donor from African-Caribbean descent.

Everyone at Crystal Palace sends Damary our best wishes and we are asking for your help and support by trying to find him a match and encourage others to sign up for bone marrow and tissue testing. It is a simple swab test of saliva or a blood test.

Please help Damary by visiting https://www.dkms.org.uk/en and registering to help fight blood cancer and blood disorders.
