Palace for Life launch Ramadan and Fasting Sessions

Palace for Life launch new football session during Ramadan.

Palace for Life Foundation are delighted to be launching a brand-new football session during the month of Ramadan, allowing participants to break their fast and play football together.

As a part of the Palace for Life Get Involved project, the session will be made up of casual, fun, football sessions, whilst accounting for the timings of Iftar.

The session is suitable for anyone aged 15+, where the pitch will be split with a 15-18-year-old age group, and 18 years +.

As well as the football matches, the sessions give attendees the opportunity to break fast together and if anyone attending wishes to pray, they are welcome to attend with a prayer mat and space will be set aside to pray Maghrib.

Based at Selhurst Sports Arena, sessions will take place from 8pm-9:30pm on Sunday evenings from 18 April, until 16 May.

Palace for Life Sports Development Officer, and Get Involved project lead, Hazmi Bahrin said: “We are pleased to be able to launch the Get Involved, football session to run throughout Ramadan. We know that fasting can lead to some individuals feeling like they have to stop playing football and other sports, so we were determined to find a way for our participants to still be able to play.

“These sessions are player-centred, where the timings mean that individuals can attend the sessions uninterrupted throughout Ramadan, whilst playing casual football matches and breaking their fast together.”
