Palace for Life and Street Soccer London win Partnership award

Palace for Life and Street Soccer London win Partnership award at the Level the Playing Field Awards night at Decathlon.

The partnership between Palace for Life and Street Soccer London won the London Partnership of the Year at the Level the Playing Field Awards night at Decathlon. This award was voted for by a panel from Levelling the Playing Field’s strategic partners.

Since 2021, Palace for Life has supported Street Soccer London’s youth sessions and provided additional opportunities for players within their programmes.  As the official charity of Crystal Palace F.C., Palace for Life uses the power of football and the Palace brand to reach over 15,000 young people in South London yearly, inspiring them to find a better path and live a healthier lifestyle.

Street Soccer London’s Programme Coordinator, Jack Badu, was delighted with the award and reflects on Street Soccer London’s partnership with Palace for Life so far.

”Our coaches have fantastic relationships with the young people we work with and sometimes new coaches coming in can find it hard to build a similar rapport. We managed to secure Sheridan from Crystal Palace as a coach on a weekly basis, who has been brilliant.

Palace were then able to find tournaments, education and training opportunities that gave participants an opportunity to challenge themselves. Palace also delivered a sports leadership course last year in half term to an additional group of young people. We are extremely grateful to enjoy such a fruitful partnership and we look forward to continuing our work going forward.”

Palace’s for Life Female Engagement Officer, Gemma, was also delighted with the award.

‘’Palace for life are very honoured to receive this award from Levelling the playing field. Our work with Street Soccer London began through the starting of the Chances programme, through this we have been able to combine two amazing charities that develop and support young people through the power of sport.

This partnership has given Palace for Life the opportunity to have a real impact in the Lambeth borough and started the work to socially mix young people from different boroughs in a way they could never have done before. We look forward to continuing the partnership with a like-minded organisation collaborating for a greater goal.’’
