After nearly eight years at the helm, Ed Warner will step down as Chair of Palace for Life Foundation in December. Under Ed’s leadership the Foundation has grown significantly, doubling in size to 55 full-time staff and enabling us to deliver ever-more-impactful programmes in south London schools and across the local community, supporting over 15,000 young people each year.

Ed has been instrumental in enhancing the Foundation’s reputation, both in the local community and nationally, and will leave the charity in a very strong place.

We are now seeking a new Chair to build on Ed’s achievements and drive the Foundation forward. The new Chair will play a key role in further strengthening our partnership with Crystal Palace Football Club and local voluntary and statutory organisations, enhancing our programmes and establishing the Foundation as one of the leading young people’s charities in the country.

We are looking for someone with:

  • A strong passion for Crystal Palace Football Club and an understanding of its community impact.
  • Insight into the challenges faced by young people in south London, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Experience in strategic leadership within the voluntary sector.
  • A commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • The political acumen to represent the view of the wider Board on sensitive matters.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a senior, experienced individual with a passion for and close connection to CPFC to lead the Board of Trustees and support the Chief Executive Officer and management team to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people in south London.
