Join the Marathon March 2019

Donate to the Marathon March!

Support your club and challenge yourself by joining fellow Palace fans, legends and supporters on Saturday 12 October for the third annual Palace for Life Marathon March.

Complete the Marathon March and wear the Palace colours with pride, starting at Selhurst Park and then heading through Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park and central London on the 26.2 mile walk. If the full walk sounds too much for you, there are options of 16 mile and 10 mile routes for you to tackle.

By taking part in this event and committing to fundraise £300 you will help us, through the power of Palace, to continue to inspire and change the lives of over 13,000 young south Londoners a year. With you, we will help young south Londoners grow through the power of sport, helping them to find a better path in life, for a better life.

One of those young people is Palace-mad 15-year-old Jordan, who has been able to fulfill his passion to play football, gain new skills and prepare for his future. You can read his story HERE.

Last year’s Marathon March, powered by Utilita Energy, saw more than 150 Palace fans join legends Andy Johnson, Mark Bright, Neil Shipperley, Andy Gray and Sasa Curcic, as well as Palace chairman Steve Parish, walk 26.2 miles from Selhurst Park to Trafalgar Square. Over £100,000 was raised to support our continued work with young south Londoners!

Here’s how last year’s day unfolded:

Speaking after walking the Marathon March in 2018, Palace chairman Steve Parish said: “It was fantastic and reminds you what a football club is all about for so many people.

“The Foundation is growing and doing so much good work in our community, reaching out to so many young people and making a difference to their lives.”

Fiona and Patrick McNamara, who walked in both 2017 and 2018, said after the 2018 event: “Just a brilliant day spent with Palace fans who have the same goal, raising awareness for a great cause like Palace for Life Foundation. For the Chairman [Steve Parish] to take part was such a great boost to the fans. Andy Johnson is a great Ambassador to the club too.”

Rebecca Hurst walked in 2017 and then volunteered at the event in 2018: “I signed up as I enjoy challenges and I really wanted to help Palace for Life to help raise the children of south London.

“I really enjoyed the day meeting lots of other like-minded people who have the same passion for helping others and also supporting Crystal Palace. It was great to walk and chat with Andy during the walk and to find out more about him. The event was extremely well organised by Palace for Life Foundation and having the ladies team hand out medals at the end was a great touch.

“The walk showed that as supporters we are not just watching football we are a family that stick together to help each other and of those in our community.”

The Marathon March is a marathon-length walk from Selhurst Park to Trafalgar Square taking place on Saturday 12 October 2019. The social event is open to anyone, and is non-competitive, where the primary aim is to raise money for Palace for Life Foundation. All participants are asked to register for £25 and commit to raising a minimum of £300 each in sponsorship and all those that do will see their name printed in the Palace matchday programme and on the Palace for Life roll of honour on their website.
