Dinner with Roy and Ray raises over £15,000 for the Palace for Life Foundation

On 17 April 2018, Crystal Palace Football Club hosted ‘Dinner with Roy and Ray,’ a fundraising event on behalf of the Palace for Life Foundation in Selhurst Park’s Stanley Stephenson suite.

First-team management duo of Roy Hodgson and Ray Lewington shared anecdotes from their time in management and stories from their playing days as well as their thoughts on the club and the Foundation with over 150 guests. There was an auction, with prizes including a VIP backstage tour of the A League of Their Own set, and dinner with Palace players, James McArthur and Wayne Hennessey.

Roy Hodgson said: “Managers and players may come and go, but the Palace fans and community are truly the heart of the club, staying with it through thick and thin. This is why I’m proud to support the Foundation.”

There was also an exclusive opportunity for guests to join the Palace for Life Foundation Investors Club and receive a signed shirt from Roy on the night. The Investors Club is a commitment from individuals or companies to donate £1,000 annually (or £85 a month) to help make a huge difference to local young lives.

The Palace for Life Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended the Dinner, especially the five generous individuals who pledged to join the Investors Club, including Roy Hodgson himself. As well as raising a fantastic £15,000 to help young south Londoners find a better path for a better life, it was also amazing to hear so many supporters speak passionately about the Foundation.
