Andy Gray joins Marathon March!
With club legend Andy Johnson and comedian Kevin Day already signed up, former Palace midfielder and England player Andy Gray has added his name to the starting line-up for Palace for Life Foundation’s Marathon March.
On Saturday 7th October the group will start a 26.2 mile marathon walk from Selhurst Park to Trafalgar Square, via Wimbledon Common, Richmond Park and the River Thames. With over 85 Palace fans already signed up, the Foundation aims to raise over £20,000 to help support young people across south London.
The Palace legend has already started training and said: “As a proud south Londoner, I’m really pleased to support Palace for Life Foundation by joining their first ever Marathon March. Crystal Palace is a community club so I can’t wait to walk with the fans as we raise money to help local people most in need.”
The Foundation is calling on Palace fans to join in. Registration fee is £25 and you’ll commit to raise £300 each in sponsorship. A breakfast bite at the stadium, a hearty lunch, morning and afternoon snacks and sandwiches at the finish line pub are all included, as well as full first aid support should you run into problems.
Every fundraiser that reaches their £300 target will get their name in the match day programme and all walkers will be part of a team photo from inside Selhurst Park on the morning of the walk.
Two shorter alternative routes are available with one starting from Selhurst to Kew Bridge (16.2 miles) and the other from Kew Bridge to Trafalgar Square (10 miles).
Spaces are limited so we urge you to REGISTER early in order to avoid disappointment. Upon registration we will send you training tips and guidance on how to make the most of your fundraising efforts.
