Shaun Derry will be captaining a Crystal Palace team in the Race Europe challenge, and you can be a part of his squad.

Race Europe is a virtual race against 13 other London clubs to complete 6,720 miles (the distance between all of the Euro 2021 Host Cities) in the quickest time possible whilst raising funds for Palace for Life Foundation.

The event will run throughout March and participants can log miles in nearly 80 different activities (subject to any Government guidelines) including running, swimming, cycling, football, dancing, tennis and even by washing their car!

Former Crystal Palace player Shaun Derry will be joining the challenge and captaining a squad of 23 in a quest to finish the fastest. Shaun said: “Having taken part in the Palace for Life Marathon March last year, I was keen to support the Foundation further. Race Europe is a brilliant idea as it gives us all a chance to get more active, whilst supporting Palace for Life and their work in our community.”

A live event portal will chart the progress of each Club team throughout the challenge and as each squad reaches a host city, information about that city and its footballing history will be unlocked.

All funds raised from the event will support Palace for Life’s work in the community through investment into solution-focused projects, tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our community today including social isolation and health inequalities.

To secure a place in the Race Europe Virtual Event, you will need to pay £10 entry fee and commit to raising £100 in sponsorship.

There is still time to join Shaun’s squad, but there’s only 15 places left, so hurry!
