Palace for Life unveil Business Investors Club
Last week, we launched the Business Investors Club, a new branch of the Investors Club designed to engage local businesses with our work.
The launch event held in the Speroni’s hospitality suite at Selhurst Park saw our fundraising team unveil our new corporate support programme, the Business Investors Club, to local organisations.
The Investors Club is a group of incredible people who have pledged to make an annual donation of £1,000 or more per-year, making a massive difference in the level of support we’re able to offer to disadvantaged youngsters in our community.
We’re thrilled that this opportunity has now opened up to local organisations so they too can make a huge difference through their businesses, play an active role in supporting our work on a philanthropic level, and act as vocal ambassadors and champions of our work across south London.
The new Business Investors Club is split into three different levels of support: Gold, Silver and Platinum, each offering a range of money-can’t-buy benefits for businesses who join, on top of the knowledge that they are making a tangible difference to the lives of young south Londoners.

The launch evening saw Palace for Life CEO and Major Donor Fundraiser Molly Moore take to the floor to introduce the programme, before we introduced Sarah Hoddy, Targeted Intervention Manager and Isaac, a participant on our mentoring programme who has gone from strength to strength since starting the programme in December alongside his mentor Jess.
Since he started with us, he has had 21 mentoring sessions focusing on examining his low mood, anxiety and various contextual issues like housing instability and his employment search. Through help from Jess, he describes himself as feeling ‘in the best headspace I’ve been in a very long time.’ And has also managed to bag himself a paid internship at Mark’s and Spencer, something he said he was really enjoying.
Next up on stage was Richard Cawker, Finance Director at Echo Studios, who was the first to join the Business Investors Club. As a lifelong Palace fan, he was naturally interested in supporting the programme and introduced the idea to his team who really took to it. When asked why local businesses should consider donating as part of the Business Investors Club, he put it very simply, saying ‘you can’t afford not to.’
Interestingly, Richard explained that instead of looking at it as a charity donation, he thought of his employers’ involvement in the Business Investors Club as more of an employee engagement programme initiative, because, as well as the donation, he and his team also spent the day with a number of participants from our employability programme, GAME ON, showing them how their company operates.
We’re so grateful for the support of every business that came along to the launch evening. For more information on the Business Investors Club, read our brochure or get in touch with Molly.
