INVESTORS CLUB: THE PRICE OF FOOTBALL – PALACE SPECIAL
Last week, members of our Investors Club experienced a live version of the popular football finance podcast The Price of Football with Kevin Day and Kieran Maguire in our second exclusive event for members.
Following the success of the inaugural Investors Club exclusive event in November with Rob Quinn and Dom Fifield, our chairman and host Ed Warner was joined by comedian, podcaster, and Palace for Life Trustee Kevin Day and leading football finance expert Kieran Maguire, who performed a live version of their popular podcast The Price of Football at a venue in the City of London.
From discussing the takeover bids that have recently been submitted to Manchester United, to Everton’s referral to an independent commission by the Premier League – anything worth knowing about the current state of football finance was discussed. Also joining Ed, Kevin, and Kieran on the panel was Crystal Palace F.C. Chief Financial Officer Sean O’Loughlin, who spoke passionately with fans about current affairs at Palace and about his role in looking after finances at the club.

During the evening, Route to Employment Manager Angelica Nabadda and Education, Training and Employment Officer Keia Blake were joined by Dion, a participant on our GAME ON! programme, which helps young people to develop their employability skills and build a better understanding of career pathways. During this part of the evening, Dion spoke about the impact our GAME ON! programme has had on him personally and professionally – and also announced that very day he had been offered a role as a Sessional Coach at Palace for Life as a result of his successes on the programme.

The event was also a great chance for like-minded fans to chat Palace and get an exclusive insight into the complex world of football finance, and find out more about the crucial work that we deliver in south London.
