A message from our Chair: European Super League
A message from our Chair, Ed Warner.
The recent announcements from the ESL have created huge uncertainty across the world of football.
It serves to remind us more than ever that football is a game for fans and local communities. At Palace for Life Foundation we are immensely proud to be part of a club rooted in our local south London community. The work we do in supporting local young people, hit particularly hard by the COVID pandemic, is now more important than ever.
We as a community charity only exist because of the support we get from the club and the Premier League, and in particular the wonderful Palace fans, whose generosity and passion is helping us change so many people’s lives and will always do so.
One of the fundamental strengths of football is the connections the pyramid structure of the game creates from the top professional clubs down to the grassroots sport embedded in the community. Nowhere is this strength more evident than in the work of club foundations like Palace for Life up and down the land. Any challenge to the integrity of the game’s structure risks permanent damage to the society that football draws its support from.
