Learning Disabilities

People with learning or intellectual disabilities are some of the most isolated and inactive in our local communities. They rely on the support of others to be able to do a lot of basic day to day tasks.

What?

Fun football sessions for adults with learning or intellectual disabilities who can come together  to play football, have fun and make new friends. Creating support networks that can make lasting and worthwhile connections with others in this hard-to-reach sector.

Regular sessions run in the morning at a time that allows independent travelers and those supported by care homes or resource bases to get to. Our experienced coaches ensure that all are able to join in, from those more active to those who may not be used to doing much physical activity.

We also run more advanced sessions for those players identified as being a little more mobile and stronger than others.

These sessions are great for those taking part, but have also proved invaluable to many family members, support workers and carers who support people throughout the week. This can be a very challenging role, so regular connection, friendship, and sharing knowledge has proven to be one of the great unforeseen benefits of our Learning Disabilities sessions.
