Palace for Life launching new 'Snap Back' programme
Palace for Life Foundation will be launching a new programme in February 2018 in partnership with the Croydon Youth Offending Team. The six-week programme, Snap Back, will aim to build the resilience of young offenders who have been given out-of-court disposal orders, focusing on improving their mental and emotional health.
Through the programme, the Foundation hopes to empower and inspire young people to make better decisions in their lives, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow, achieve and aspire. The following subjects will be tackled in the sessions:
• Identity and Attitudes
• Healthy Lifestyles and Wellbeing
• Gangs, Grooming, Drug Dealing and County Lines
• CSE and Healthy Relationships
• Safety Strategies
• Aspirations
Embedded into the work of the youth justice system, the project is now a mandatory component for young people to successfully complete their court orders and change their lives. Palace for Life will also use the programme to offer participants exit routes into PL Kicks and other Premier League-funded programmes.
Palace for Life Community Development Officer John Patrick said: “At Palace for Life we use the power of football to inspire young people and help them find a better path and to lead a healthier life.
“We hope that Snap Back can do just that, by engaging youngsters who are going through a difficult time in their lives and encouraging them to make positive changes for their future.”
