Palace for Life Foundation’s Soccer Schools are back for October half-term 2018 and we are excited to announce that we have an early bird discount code to share with you. Just enter code ‘Earlybird’ to receive a 20% discount when booking HERE before 1 October 2018.

Our Soccer Schools help boys and girls between the ages of 5-12 to Train Like a Pro and will run this half-term from 22-26 October. The courses are designed by experienced Palace coaches and feature a range of practical sessions and interactive classroom-based workshops. By using various teaching methods, we help young players to access their full potential and see what it is really like to train like a professional footballer.

The sessions will last from 9am-4pm and include healthy packed lunches, as well as workbooks and individualised feedback for those players who attend for three or more days. They are based in the following locations across south London:

Palace for Life Foundation Sports Development Manager Rob Perrett spoke of the aims of our Soccer Schools and the numerous benefits young players receive there: “We know that young players look up to the professionals at Palace so we wanted to create an experience that allows them to Train Like a Pro. Our Soccer Schools will help youngsters work on every aspect of their game to ensure they become the best player they can be.

“We hope that the skills they gain will not just help them as a footballer, but will teach them transferable skills like compassion and fair play. Most importantly, we want the courses to be enjoyable and for players to leave with new friends, as well as new football skills.”

Our Soccer Schools were a huge success this summer, with more than 500 children in attendance. Furthermore, players from each venue were invited to trial for our Development Centres, a place at which will give them the opportunity to join the Player Pathway which leads into the Crystal Palace Academy for those who show the potential to progress.

Tooni, 12, and Obafemi, 10, are from Chicago and like our Soccer Schools so much that they attend them every year when they visit London. Tooni enthused: “The Soccer School allows you to train with the Palace coaches and develop in a professional environment.”

Tooni also enjoys the opportunity they give him to socialise with his fellow team mates, explaining: “It’s much easier making friends when everyone here loves football!”

His young brother, Obafemi, praised the course’s mixture of interactive workshops and practical sessions: “It’s good to be able to use your knowledge of positions and football and then put it to the test. It’s competitive and we get to win bragging rights.”
