Foundation coaches meet Duke of Cambridge at Commonwealth reception
Two Palace for Life Foundation coaches represented the Premier League at the ‘Welcome to the UK’ reception event for the Heads of State of the 53 Commonwealth Nations, as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings on Monday 16 April.
The event was attended by the Duke of Cambridge and Premier League Chief Executive Richard Scudamore and was held at the QEII Centre in Westminster.
Roxanne Bennett, Sports Development Officer at the Foundation, was involved with the PL Skills programme last year when she travelled to India to educate coaches. She said:
“Being part of the event last night was a great experience. I was able to share my story with Prince William and delegates from all over the world and provide an insight into the Premier Skills programme and how I have been able to bring those experiences back into my work at the Palace for Life Foundation.”
Keon Richardson, Disability Officer at Palace for Life Foundation, who went to China last summer as part of the PL Skills programme, had this to say about the event:
“I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my experience of Premier Skills in China with delegates from Commonwealth countries and Prince William at the exhibition last night. I’ve been able to successfully apply the range of coaching skills that I’ve gained in China to my role as Disability Officer at Palace for Life Foundation.”
