Applications for Crystal Palace Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre trials now open

Crystal Palace F.C. and its charity arm Palace for Life Foundation are excited to offer more opportunities for girls to develop their footballing talent, after securing a new Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre licence from the Football Association. Applications for trials are now open for girls aged 8-16 and can be booked with the Palace for Life Foundation.

The Palace Girls’ Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) will provide aspiring young footballers access to a high-quality training environment to improve their footballing talent under highly qualified coaches in south London.

To be considered for the weekly programme, girls aged 8-16 must apply for – and attend – one of two trials. Girls applying must live within one hour’s travel time or the Crystal Palace Academy, which is situated on Copers Cope Road in Beckenham.

Trials are taking place on the 8th September and 15th September from 7:30 – 9:00 pm at the Academy.

There are 20 spaces available for trials across each age group (U10, U12, U14, U16) and up to 20 spaces per age group and trial can be selected if successful.

Applicants are asked to only apply for one of two trial dates, and both are now open for booking – free of charge.

Successful trialists will be informed within a week of attending their trial and if selected, will attend weekly sessions from the 22nd of September 2023 at the Academy on Friday evenings.

Those selected will undertake strength and conditioning training, physical literacy as well as a technical training programme.

Showcase fixtures will be also organised and available to each squad throughout the season with a minimum of one game every six weeks, including at least one festival, with the intention of increasing exposure to a variety of playing formats and experiences.

Palace for Life and Crystal Palace F.C. are committed to creating more opportunities for girls to play football and the new ETC programme is a brilliant opportunity for aspiring footballers to showcase their talents and increase their chances of playing the game at the highest level.

The programme, which is being delivered across the country by over 70 clubs, has been supported by £5.25 million worth of funding from the Premier League spread across the next three years, and will see the number of players engaged in FA pathway programmes increase by more than double within that time frame. It is expected that the number of players engaged in the programme across all clubs involved will rise from 1,722 to 4,200 by the end of the 2023/24 season.

Applications for trials taking place from 7:30 – 9:00 pm on the  8th and 15th September at the Crystal Palace Academy, are now open and can be booked with the Palace for Life Foundation.
