Enter our Black History Month Art Challenge

Our Black History Month Art Challenge is open to local primary school students and encourages pupils to create a piece of artwork using the official Black History Month colours to convey powerful anti-racist messages that will be displayed at Selhurst Park.

October  marks Black History Month in the UK. It celebrates the historical achievements and contributions of black people in this country and around the world, as well as what more needs to be done to ensure our education system is fit for purpose.

WHAT’S THE CHALLENGE?

In partnership with local schools across Croydon, we’re hosting an Art for Change Competition where local students are be encouraged to create artwork using the official Black History Month colours (Black, Red, Yellow, and Green) to convey powerful anti-racist messages. To kick off this competition in style, we got some first-team players together to help with the instructions.

Winning pieces will have the honour of being displayed at Selhurst Park Stadium. The extended deadline for entries is 5:30 pm of the day on Monday 2nd October. 

 

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

  • In groups of two or individually please design an art piece which displays unity
  • Be creative – for extra points can you include Palace within your artwork 😊
  • Please use the colours of Black, Red, Yellow & Green
  • Entries must be made by students in primary school, or 11 and below
  • Deadline for submission is Monday 2nd October, please email the addresses below with your name, age and school with your submission,

AND THE PRIZE?

Winning pieces will be displayed on our big screen during our home match against Nottingham Forest on 7th October 2023. The winning student artists will also have the unique opportunity to attend the game with friends and family, where they will witness the first team’s warm-up session before the game with a group photo being featured prominently in the CPFC vs Tottenham match day programme.
