BBC Sports Reporter and lifelong Palace fan Isaac Fanin kicked off the evening with everything you’d expect from a Palace fan – basking in the club’s recent tremendous form, and of course, revelling in the excitement of Palace securing their spot in the FA Cup Semi-Final.

On the evening, we heard from Dr. Mark Gillet, Chief Medical Officer of the Premier League, who gave his insights what it’s like working alongside figures such as Roy Hodgson, and the Premier League’s increasing focus on mental health.

Alongside Mark was Palace legend, Geoff Thomas, who shared his moving story of his two-decade fundraising journey for Cure Leukaemia, culminating in the announcement that this summer’s Tour de France will be his seventh and final in support of the research that saved his life.

As always in our Investors Club events, we like to focus a section of the evening on the impact our Investors have in the community. This time round we heard from Ceren. Ceren has been part of the Foundation for several years, volunteering at our Emerging Talent Centre and participating in the Female Coaches Hub. First joining our Kicks sessions, Ceren now plays for a local grassroots team.

Joined by Gemma, Female Engagement Officer at Palace for Life, Ceren outlined her passion for getting more girls into the game, especially after she nutmegged her coach Gemma in her first session! This anecdote Ceren touched upon, outlines the strong relationship she has built with Gemma throughout her time as a Premier League Kicks participant.

Events like this give like-minded Palace fans the chance to chat about their club, and get some exclusive know-how from experts in the world of football, whilst hearing about the direct impact their donations are having on the lives of young south Londoners.

By joining the Investors Club, either as an individual or as a business, you’ll be making a direct impact on the lives of young south Londoners. We rely on generous funding from Investors like you to ensure we can both continue to reach young people who need our help and help even more youngsters in our community.
