Speroni Starting Marathon March

Current Palace shot-stopper Julian Speroni is the latest club legend to confirm he will be attending the Marathon March on Saturday 7 October. He will be at Selhurst Park bright and early, meeting and greeting over 100 walkers who are taking part, and will see them off as they leave the stadium at 8am.

It is not the first time that Julian has been involved in Foundation events, having previously managed a team in the ‘Play at Palace’ fundraiser earlier this year and led free goalkeeping sessions on behalf of the Foundation for young south Londoners. He is also a keen supporter of the powerchair football team, and has been to watch them in action. Julian holds the record for appearances by a goalkeeper at Crystal Palace and is undoubtedly a fans’ favourite.

He had this to say about coming to start the event:

“I’ve always been a supporter of the Foundation’s work, and the Marathon March is another fantastic event that can really make a difference to vulnerable people in our community. I can’t wait to meet the wonderful people who are taking part and set them off on this great challenge – see you all on Saturday!”
