Palace for Life announce 2018 Marathon March
Palace for Life Foundation, the official charity of Crystal Palace FC, is delighted to announce that the Marathon March will return in 2018.
Following the huge success of the inaugural sponsored walk in October 2017, the Foundation has today (28 December) confirmed that the second edition will take place on Saturday 13 October 2018.
Over 100 people took part in the 26.2 mile trek this year, including Palace legends Andrew Johnson and Andy Gray, with the combined fundraising total reaching a staggering £67,280 to support the Foundation’s work with young south Londoners.

Andrew Johnson, who scored 85 goals for Palace during the 161 appearances he made for the Club, will once again take part in the Marathon March and is encouraging Eagles fans to join him.
He said: “From start to finish, the 2017 Marathon March was a truly special day, and one that made me incredibly proud to be involved with Crystal Palace FC.
“The atmosphere and camaraderie was great throughout and kept us all going, especially through those tough final few miles!
“We raised a huge amount to support the fantastic work the Palace for Life Foundation does in the community, but it would be great to see even more Palace fans joining us next year and I’d encourage everyone to sign up.”
Beginning at Selhurst Park and finishing in Trafalgar Square, the route will remain the same for 2018 and take in some iconic London landmarks, passing London rivals Fulham’s ground, Craven Cottage, and heading close to Chelsea’s Stamford Bridge.
The Marathon March is a non-competitive, social event where the primary aim is to raise money for Palace for Life Foundation, who work with over 13,000 of the most hard-to-reach young people each year in the communities around Selhurst Park.

Palace for Life Foundation CEO Mike Summers said: “We were quite simply blown away at the level of support we had for the Marathon March this year and the amount of money our marchers and supporters raised is already making a huge difference to our work.
“But there is always more that we can do and we would be delighted to see even more Palace fans joining us next year as we attempt to raise even more.
All participants are asked to commit to raising a minimum of £300 each in sponsorship and all those that do will see their name printed in the Palace match-day programme and on the Palace for Life website.
