Man v Fat to Marathon March - 'If I can do it, so can you!'

Paul Parker’s involvement in Foundation programmes has led him to join us for the Marathon March – a 26.2 mile walk with Andy Johnson, Andy Gray and Kevin Day – to raise money that will go towards improving the lives of young South Londoners. Most recently, Paul has been involved in the Man v Fat programme, which helps men work towards a healthier, fitter life. Paul would encourage anyone to help raise money by taking part in the March, and said this about his reasons for walking himself:

“Firstly, let me say that I’m not a Crystal Palace supporter but I have witnessed first-hand what the Foundation have done and what they do for the local community. They are a fantastic organisation that offer support to the community young and old. I personally have gained my level 1 coaching badge, taken part in the Fitter Fan Club and now play in the Man vs Fat Challenge League with around 80 other fatties. I personally think the most important part of what they do is for the youth and disabled people in our community, making it easier for everybody to take part in sporting activities and making a real difference to people’s lives.”

Health co-ordinator Beth Towle said: “Throughout all of the programmes Paul has been involved in, he has always been determined to become healthier, not only for himself, but also for his family. Its been lovely to see him losing weight and enjoying it! His team spirit is noted by all the coaches and I can’t wait to see him take on the March!
