Palace fan Martin Jones donates portion of book proceeds to Palace for Life
For his sixth book, ‘Sixty Years at the Palace: My time as a fan of Crystal Palace Football Club’, lifelong Palace fan Martin Jones is donating half of the proceeds to Palace for Life, inspired by more than sixty years of supporting the club.
Martin Jones has been supporting Palace since 1962 when he was just 12 years old where he used to stand behind the goal in the Whitehorse Lane end.
Now, in October 2025, he has released his latest collection of Palace memories and chosen to donate 50% of the proceeds to Palace for Life.
In the book, Jones, a former local referee, looks back at forty games that have left a mark on him over the years, plus an update on May’s FA Cup Wembley triumph.
Martin explains: “Each of the games has a ‘wow’ factor, some good, some bad, and some frankly bizarre, which I think many Palace fans will be interested to read about”.

As with all of Martin’s previous books, all proceeds will be donated to charity. This time, supporting Palace for Life and MIND in Croydon.
The book can be purchased at £12.99, from Waterstones Books and other online retailers. You can get your copy, here.
Reflecting on the book and why he chose Palace for Life as a beneficiary, Martin said:
“I’ve been supporting the Palace since 1962 when I was a 12-year-old standing with the other youngsters behind the goal at the Whitehorse Lane end. I’ve experienced some great times and some not-so-great times over the years, days of triumph and days when frankly I wish I hadn’t turned up. Before I get too old, I wanted to set down memories of some of the more notable games I’ve attended, and my book, Sixty Years at the Palace, is the result.
Forty games with a ‘wow’ factor plus an update to last May’s FA Cup triumph at Wembley. As with all my previous published books of memories, all proceeds are being donated to relevant charities, and in this case, I am pleased that the Palace for Life Foundation have agreed to be a beneficiary. I’m really hoping that Palace fans, and football fans generally, will purchase the book and support Palace for Life Foundation in the process.”
A big thank you to Martin Jones for choosing Palace for Life as a beneficiary.
