Palace Women’s player Amber Stobbs joins Race Europe Challenge

Crystal Palace F.C Women’s player Amber Stobbs becomes the latest name to sign up for the Race Europe challenge.

Race Europe is a virtual race where Palace fans will compete against 13 other London clubs to complete 6,720 miles in the quickest time possible whilst raising funds for Palace for Life Foundation.

The challenge is suitable for all the family and will run throughout March where participants can log miles in nearly 80 different activities (subject to any Government guidelines) including running, swimming, cycling, football, dancing, tennis and even by washing their car!

Palace winger, Amber Stobbs has encouraged fans to join her in taking on the challenge: “It’s key we all stay as active as possible and Race Europe gives us all a chance to get moving. I’m looking forward to getting started and logging my miles, so let’s get our squad towards the top of the leaderboard!

“I hope that more people will join me in this challenge and help to support the vital work that continues to be carried out by Palace for Life.”

A live event portal will chart the progress of each Club team throughout the challenge and as each squad reaches a host city, information about that city and its footballing history will be unlocked.

All funds raised from the event will support Palace for Life’s work in the community through investment into solution-focused projects, tackling some of the biggest challenges facing our community today including social isolation and health inequalities.

Stobbs will join a squad captained by one of Mark Bright or Shaun Derry. The Palace duo have signed up to the challenge and will captaining a squad each. On the challenge, former Palace midfielder Shaun Derry said: “Having taken part in the Palace for Life Marathon March last year, I was keen to support the Foundation further. Race Europe is a brilliant idea as it gives us all a chance to get more active, whilst supporting Palace for Life and their work in our community.”

Bright added : “I think it’s a really good idea for people to try and use their time positively if they can, whether that’s keeping fit or doing something to help those in need. I’m looking forward to captaining my Race Europe squad, and am glad we can support Palace for Life whose vital services are helping vulnerable young people and are needed more than ever.”

To secure a place in the Race Europe Virtual Event, you will need to pay £10 entry fee and commit to raising £100 in sponsorship.
