Social Mobility Programme
Leveraging the power of the Crystal Palace Football Club (CPFC) brand and new, elite facilities, we aim to inspire young South Londoners to reach their potential; by providing 16-23-year-old NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people with opportunities to progress in their chosen routes, be it further education, employment or on-the-job training (i.e. apprenticeships).
Young people will be recruited through local networks, referral partners and existing Palace for Life (PFL) programmes and inducted on to a 10-week Traineeship programme designed specifically to meet the needs of NEET young people and to support each young person overcome their individual barriers.
Sessions will consist of virtual/classroom-based workshops delivered by highly experienced PFL staff in the newly developed, state of the art CPFC Academy classrooms. There will also be targeted masterclasses, guest speaker sessions, volunteering and work experience opportunities, as well as 1-2-1 support. Individualised support will be provided for personal development planning, as well as bursary support towards training and equipment to make young people more employable.
Young people will be offered follow-up support for up to 6-months post-programme, in order to improve the retention of positive progressions.
In line with other programmes and the expertise of our staff, there will be a focus on supporting those furthest away from the training and job market. As such, we will work closely to provide opportunities with delivery and referral partners, including the Premier League Charitable Fund, Metropolitan Police, Divert, Youth Offending Service, Oasis Academies and various training providers.
Who can make referrals?
Young people not in education, training or employment can self-refer, community referral partners.
