Legends announced for Play with Legends match

Palace for Life’s annual Play with Legends match coincides with the Crystal Palace Beer Festival on Saturday 18th May. This is your chance to kit up next to Palace legends and play at Selhurst Park in front of a crowd!

Andy Johnson and Andy Gray  will be returning to play in this year’s event, alongside a Play with Legends debut from Clinton Morrison.

Between them, these legends have made an impressive 452 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 154 goals, and now you can play alongside them on the Selhurst Park pitch.

The chance to join Johnson, Gray, Morrison and five other legends yet to be announced, is being offered to fans through a series of auctions which will raise money for the Foundation’s work with hard-to-reach young south Londoners.

Johnson, who played in last years event and made 161 appearances for Palace during his career, said: “These guys sit in the stands week in week out and they see their idols out here, so for them to be able to follow in their footsteps is just a fantastic opportunity.”

“The important thing is this is all about creating awareness of the Foundation’s work and raising as much money as we can to help the community that most of these fans live in. This is the heart of Croydon and so many local people come here every week to support this club, so days like this are just a great way for the club to give back.”

If you are a successful bidder, you will enjoy the full player experience, which includes walking down the tunnel, having your kit laid out in the changing rooms and enjoying team talks and tactics from your guest managers.

After the match, both squads can enjoy a drink together and watch the FA Cup Final on the big screen at the annual Beer Festival, taking place in the Holmesdale Stand.

Bidding to play in this game will start on Friday 1 March. Make sure you do not miss out on your chance to play by keeping an eye on our social media channels @PalaceforLife and website.
